My shoes on the way back from school (they look different if they are on the way to school, right?)
It's easy for me to just take things as they come and "Yeah of course" everything, but I've been trying to really realize the magic of it all and not "of course" it. A street is a street, right? Yeah well I remember trying to think of what it would be like to walk on brick streets. And now every day everywhere I walk on brick streets. Yeah, of course. But really, I want to remember this and realize how long I've wanted to be here, and finally I am here. HERE. I remember being 8 and trying to imagine what I'd feel like if I ever did get to visit. And now I am here, for the second time, and this time for a longer time that I never thought possible...and now it and so much more is possible. It's really unbelievable. I'll be walking to school, and, "oh a canal." but man, it's a CANAL. Normal, and I feel like I've always been here, but I know I'll get so much more out of it if I realize the luck of it all.
Ahem.
The plant GertJan en Marlies gave me:
The kids like the food I made (finally)
Yeah, it's a little cold.
Great time playing soccer with Michiel (it's a habit)
The canals are freezing (and so am I). I definitely do not have very warm clothes. Ah but it will pass. Just like it did in Idaho...I wasn't quite warm there either.

Get a hat on girl! Then pinch yourself to see if you're dreaming..yup, it's true but not a matter of "luck" silly. No such thing as luck, God is with you, you just need to wake up and see His hand in all of life, your life! Love and prayers, mom
ReplyDeleteBTW: Great pics, so how's the camera? You like it as much as you thought you would? Fun to see you cooking and the kids liking it, that feels good, doesn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteactually i hardly ever use my camera now that I have my phone. the phone is always with me so it's more convenient. but the camera will be useful when i go somewhere special...but i don't want to carry the camera with me everywhere, even if it is small. i used it alot in France though, and will use it more in the future.
Deletetry again. I just sent a big comment, and can't tell if you received it. It wasn't posted so I am guessing I have no idea what I am doing.
ReplyDeleteYou look GREAT. The kids looks so happy. What a great nanny you must be. FUN! Are you playing your guitar any? How about learning to ice skate Seems like you have a great place to learn in. Miss you dear. Miss hearing from you.
We are well on this end. growing, stretching and walking through the world between a 19 year old and 7 year old!!! Do you get to spend much time with your family in Holland?
Hoping you are finding time to spend time in your Word as you consider God's love for you today.
Miss you,friend.

ah pity! i hate it when that happens. but glad you tried again. :)
Deleteit has been fun. i will never get tired of hearing how great an Au Pair they think I am hahaha...even if it is just because I let them watch tv and play soccer haha. I am playing my guitar, actually a little more than I did the last few months in Oregon. I haven't tried ice skating here...is a pity, but i dont have skates...and my balance is horrible. i'll save my shame for some other time hahaha. I will send you an email this week giving a larger update.
i have been able to spend most of every weekend with my family. that, by far, has been the thing that has made me the happiest. I have great relationships with them here, and they are becoming very close friends to me. they are the highlight to my stay here. :)
will email you soon. good to hear from you!
